Acuity Law’s Bristol-based Corporate Team has advised the shareholders of Hereford headquartered Global RadioData Communications (GRC) on the agreed sale of the company to global managed services provider Marlink.
The transaction marks a significant milestone in GRC’s growth journey, bringing together two businesses with complementary capabilities in mission-critical communications and strengthening Marlink’s position across the European defence, government and critical infrastructure markets.
The sale comes at a time when defence and government organisations are placing increasing reliance on resilient communications infrastructure.
GRC has established a strong reputation for designing, integrating and supporting mission-critical communications and situational awareness systems for customers operating in demanding and security-sensitive environments. Its capabilities span satellite, RF, cloud and IP networking technologies, with a particular focus on supporting defence, government and critical national infrastructure customers.
For GRC’s shareholders, the transaction represents the culmination of the business’s development over many years and provides a platform for its next phase of growth. The sale reflects the strategic value GRC has built through its specialist technical expertise, longstanding customer relationships and experienced management team.
Subject to completion, GRC will retain its established brand, leadership team and employees, while gaining access to Marlink’s international operations, technology capabilities and global network.
Iain Pope, Chairman of GRC, said:
“This transaction represents an exciting next chapter for GRC and reflects the journey we have been on over many years. We have built a business with a strong reputation in a highly specialised market, supported by an exceptional team and longstanding customer relationships.
We are grateful to everyone who has guided us through the transaction, including Dawson Partnership and the Acuity team, whose commercial and pragmatic approach helped us navigate a complex process.”
Edward Chapman, Corporate Partner at Acuity Law, said:
“It has been a pleasure to advise the GRC shareholders on this transaction. The deal recognises the strategic value of the sovereign-grade capability GRC has built in defence and government communications and reflects the strength of the business and its management team. I wish everyone involved every success as part of the Marlink group.”
Acuity Law advised the selling shareholders throughout the transaction. The team was led by Edward Chapman and included Ben Edwards and Pippa Bridger on Corporate matters, with Juliette Franklin advising on Employment aspects. Dawson Partnership acted as lead corporate finance advisor to the shareholders.
