Montfort Communications Acquires Blackstock Consulting

Key Contact: Phil Pugh

Montfort Communications, the award-winning reputation management consultancy, today announces the acquisition of Blackstock Consulting, the real estate specialist which advises some of the leading industry participants, private equity firms and institutional investors across the UK and Europe.

Blackstock, which was set up a decade ago by Andrew Teacher, will build on Montfort’s highly regarded practice groups covering financial, strategic, corporate, public affairs, change, crisis, litigation, ESG and digital communications. As well as corporate and financial communications, Blackstock is renowned for its strategic consultancy and ESG advisory work, as well as award-winning in-house research.

The combined company will serve over 100 domestic and international clients, and field over 60 professionals who will co-locate in a new state of the art central London office in the second half of 2022.

Montfort Founding Partner, Hugh Morrison, commented: “Both Montfort and Blackstock have seen very strong growth in recent years and have increasingly worked together to deliver innovative and successful strategies for our clients. Combining the depth of talent, networks and energy within these two agile businesses will be transformational for both companies and will have a positive impact for our clients and referrers around the world.”

Blackstock Founder and Managing Director, Andrew Teacher, added: “Our passionate and committed team has demonstrated how clients can benefit from fresh-thinking and integrated advice underpinned by an award-winning research team. Blackstock’s expertise in real assets, tech and ESG, combined with Montfort’s deep skillsets in parallel sectors, will allow us to support clients at the very highest levels. We chose Montfort because we see huge value in being able to offer our clients a greater range of expertise across asset management, litigation and financial services and because its senior team can take us to the next stage of business growth. We are grateful for their vote of confidence and are hugely excited about what comes next.”

Montfort Founding Partner, Nick Miles, said: “This is a really important moment for both companies and we couldn’t be more excited at what can be achieved by this combination. As global demand for our services continues to accelerate, we will continue to look to acquire top-level talent and visionary players both in the UK and internationally. Blackstock’s excellent team exemplifies that dynamic.”

Blackstock Co-owner, Tom Roberts, said: “This transaction reflects a wider industry shift towards clients seeking advisors that offer genuine strategic consultancy and in-depth sector expertise. We see significant opportunities ahead for both our clients and colleagues arising from combining two businesses with such a track record of success and great momentum.”
