Claire is a partner at Acuity Law.
Claire has nearly 40 years’ in-depth knowledge of corporate banking, including secured and unsecured lending, property finance, acquisition finance and project finance. In recent years, she has specialised in property finance – investment and development – especially in the healthcare sector, where she has acted for lenders and borrowers.
Over the course of her career, Claire has built extremely strong relationships with numerous lenders (including international banks), family offices and property companies. She has particular expertise in the hotel and leisure, social housing, health and education, and care home sectors.
Claire often advises on complex structures and her work includes drafting and reviewing loan agreements, the full range of security documents (including debentures, legal charges, share charges, account charges and guarantees) and inter-creditor arrangements. She also advises on multi-jurisdictional transactions and is experienced in obtaining legal opinions from around the world.
Claire is a distinguished alumnus of a host of national and international firms, including Clifford Chance, Freshfields, Howard Kennedy, Clyde & Co and Hill Dickinson.
