Duncan Freeman is a Consultant Partner within our Property Litigation Team.

Duncan Freeman trained and qualified into the real estate group at DLA Piper, where he specialised in property litigation.

Duncan acts for owners, occupiers, developers, and funders of corporate real estate. His practice covers most aspects of contentious real estate, including rent reviews; development disputes; landlord and tenant disputes (rent and service charge recovery, forfeiture and possession claims, and contested lease renewals); title, rights of way, and rights of light disputes; mass protest evictions; insolvency; and property-related professional negligence claims.

Duncan recently completed a secondment with Tilstone Partners and Ironstone Asset Management — the asset managers of Warehouse REIT and Life Science REIT respectively — reporting to the boards of both the asset managers and the REITs. He was responsible for managing the legal risk associated with the asset management of the two property portfolios owned by the REITs. This client-side experience gives Duncan a commercial perspective on the issues his clients face and a close understanding of how legal risk is managed across a real estate portfolio.
