Harriet is a Consultant Barrister in our Real Estate team.

She has practised as a Barrister for over 20 years, beginning her career at the criminal Bar. She then moved in-house, representing a variety of clients in construction and engineering, energy and utilities on the full breadth of transactional and contentious matters. 

Harriet’s construction clients include employers and contractor organisations in the residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors, and she has acted for clients in several of Acuity’s high-profile construction matters. She acts for funders on the construction aspects of transactions and prepares construction documentation for developers. 

Harriet also has specialist knowledge of all forums of ADR, including mediation, adjudication, and arbitration.

  • All aspects of contentious and non-contentious construction work
  • Advising funders on the construction aspects of transactions
  • Preparing construction documentation for developers
  • ADR, including mediation, adjudication, and arbitration
  • Drafting a bespoke suite of template contracts for use across a client’s business, both with customers and suppliers, to ensure a consistent approach to contracting
  • Drafting a template sub-contract for a construction company, standardising the approach used with its supply chain
  • Reviewing the construction documents for the funder of a construction development, including the appointments for the professional team and corresponding collateral warranties, the schedule of amendments to the building contract and the contractor’s collateral warranty, among other supporting documentation
