Jan is a Consultant Partner in the Commercial & Technology team. She has particular expertise in IP and Technology, including data privacy. She also handles corporate matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, shareholder arrangements and fundraisings.
Jan has significant experience in advising start-up and early-stage technology businesses. Her clients see her as a trusted legal adviser and business partner.
Jan was previously Assistant General Counsel at the US software company FIS. Before joining FIS, Jan worked at Ashurst in the City and then at US firm Latham & Watkins.
Jan is also a partner at Temple Bright LLP.
Data privacy: GDPR compliance and matters such as drafting privacy notices, advising on e-marketing regulations, data retention issues and the treatment of employee data. Jan has assisted her clients with several group-wide data audits.
Technology: Advising on all areas of software licensing (SaaS and enterprise licences) including market data distribution, RFP procedures, public and private procurement and public cloud issues, and insurance software.
Commercial: Advising on B2B and B2C terms, agency and distribution arrangements, significant experience with talent agency terms.
Corporate & Corporate Governance: Advising on shareholder arrangements (including shareholder agreements and articles of association), share and asset purchase agreements, joint ventures and fundraisings.
