Katherine is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team and is an experienced commercial litigator who specialises in high-value and complex dispute resolution matters. 

Katherine acts for companies or high net worth individuals across a range of specialities, including contractual disputes, director and shareholder disputes, professional negligence, trust litigation and fraud.

Katherine works across a wide range of industries, in both cross-jurisdictional litigation and high court litigation and has expertise in dealing with offshore disputes, such as trust litigation, having previously worked offshore.

  • Acting for a shareholder / director in a £50m fraud / share ownership dispute and successfully navigating problematic cross-jurisdictional issues and various interim applications to obtain a favourable settlement.
  • Representing a prime international wealth structuring client in proceedings which ultimately led to a US$65m tax saving following a settlor rectification application to convert a trust from foreign grantor to foreign non-grantor status.
  • Managing a successful defence against a professional negligence claim for management of a trust fund following the trustee failing to take steps to reduce inheritance tax.
  • Securing a substantial increase in the negotiated price of minority shareholding during negotiations for inequitable majority shareholder behaviour.
  • Leading a cross-jurisdictional investment fund group litigation matter, acting for fifteen separate parties in a claim against directors of an offshore market fund, involving asset tracing, enforcement and litigation forum issues.
  • Leading two appeals against seven defendants in an estate matter concerning fraud, breach of contract and professional negligence and driving the litigation strategy.
  • Leading a successful misrepresentation claim and conducting mediation resulting a 40% reduction in loss exposure to the client.
  • Successfully advocating at a one day tribunal regarding breach of health and safety legislation.
