Amber McGrath is a Trainee Solicitor within our Real Estate Team.
Amber brings hands-on experience gained through a structured legal placement, as well as a strong commitment to pro bono work.
During a three-day placement in October 2024, Amber rotated through the Real Estate, Commercial, and Employment departments. Firstly, in the Real Estate team, Amber drafted a lease summary and reviewed land searches, identifying and flagging key legal issues. Meanwhile, within the Commercial department, she assisted in drafting a non-disclosure agreement, composed client communications, and conducted legal research using Practical Law. Additionally, in the Employment team, Amber created a grievance claim timeline, observed client meetings, and gained insight into emerging legislation through a webinar on the Worker Protection Act and the Employment Rights Bill 2024.
Beyond her placement experience, Amber has demonstrated a commitment to access to justice through pro bono roles. From October 2023 to March 2024, Amber volunteered with Mencap in Cardiff, supporting the organisation’s legal and advocacy efforts. Before that, she contributed to the NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) Pro Bono project with Hugh James in early 2023, assisting with complex healthcare entitlement issues.
As a result, these early experiences have provided Amber a strong foundation in legal practice, sharpened her attention to detail, and strengthened her understanding of the commercial context in which clients operate.
