About

Shawnee Evans is a senior associate in Acuity’s Real Estate team.

She joined the firm in April 2023. She specialises in all aspects of commercial property law, with a particular focus on development work. Shawnee regularly advises developers on the acquisition of both commercial and residential development sites, including initial site purchases, conditional contracts, option agreements and supplemental agreements such as Section 104 and Section 106 agreements. She is also experienced in structuring mixed-use developments and handling subsequent plot sales and refinances.

Shawnee also provides real estate support on corporate transactions, including the property aspects of share and asset sales, particularly in the acquisition of care homes and healthcare facilities.

In addition, Shawnee advises on the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold property, as well as a broad range of landlord and tenant matters. Her work includes portfolio management, leasehold enfranchisement, lease extensions, and acting for institutional lenders on real estate finance transactions.

Work highlights

Advising on the acquisition and subsequent development of a retail park in the South West of England, including long leasehold lettings of individual retail units.

Acting on the £13 million acquisition of an office building subject to multiple occupational leases.

Granting 999-year leasehold interests for a new industrial estate comprising approximately 40 units in South Wales.

Advising on a conditional site acquisition in West Wales for a proposed residential development.

Providing real estate support on the acquisition of multiple care homes across England and Wales

Dealing with the refinance of a mixed portfolio of commercial and residential properties with a high-street lender.
