Sophie George is a Chartered Legal Executive in our Employment team.
Having specialised in Employment law for over 12 years, she advises and guides employers on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Over the course of her career, which includes several years at Slater and Gordon, she has also represented employees and trade unions.
Her skills include litigation and Tribunal representation, drafting contracts and policies, advising and negotiating settlement agreements, dismissals and redundancies, transfers and restructures, disciplinary and grievance investigations, discrimination under the Equality Act 2010 and in-house training presentations.
Sophie is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Represented trade union members in various Employment Tribunal claims, including disability discrimination, failure to make reasonable adjustments, harassment and victimisation, equal pay, unfair dismissal (automatic and ordinary), unlawful deduction from wages, unlawful inducements, whistleblowing detriments.
Secured a reinstatement for a trade union member as a result of an interim relief application.
Settled a group claim for a failure to inform and consult on a transfer of employment and failure to implement agency worker rights against three employers.
Settled a group unlawful inducement claim.
Dealt with two mass settlement agreement exercises following the closures of a car manufacturing plant and healthcare manufacturing plant.
