Our team holds a strong reputation in construction law dispute resolution. Working on projects across the United Kingdom and abroad, we manage disputes related to prominent developments with particular experience in tall buildings, fire safety, project delay, professional negligence, structural failures and contract terminations. We also retain a particular specialism in construction related insolvencies.

In addition to litigation before the Courts, we have extensive experience construction arbitrations (both national and international) and construction adjudication. Our proactive approach to the unique challenges posed by construction adjudications centres around our working closely with you to achieve the resolution that works for your business.

The team also has extensive experience of contracts for the engineering, procurement and construction of projects within the energy sector. Cardiff Interchange
We advised an innovative commercial property developer on its £100 million Cardiff Interchange construction project, a new transport interchange comprising a state-of-the-art bus terminus and a mixed-use development of over 45,000 square metres, including grade A* office space, retail premises and 318 apartments.
£120 Million Mixed-Use Scheme
We advised a developer on its entitlement to recovery of time and cost under JCT terms following the delayed completion of a £120 million mixed-use commercial and residential city centre scheme, arising from the defective design and construction of structural concrete balconies at risk of disproportionate collapse.
Central Quay, Cardiff
We advised on the development of Plots 1 and 2 at Central Quay, Cardiff City Centre, to create approximately 700 new residential units across studios to three-bedroom penthouse apartments, alongside commercial units, bars, restaurants and leisure facilities on the site of the former Brains Brewery.
Social Housing Provider
We advised a social housing provider in multi-party proceedings on its recovery of remediation costs arising from the defective design and construction of a high dependency elderly care residential scheme, including claims under the Defective Premises Act 1972, the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Civil Liability (Contribution) Act 1978.
Tata Steel, Port Talbot
We advised on a range of contracts under NEC terms and associated contract documentation related to the £1.25 billion development of the electrical arc furnace facility at Tata Steel in Port Talbot, South Wales.
Hydroelectric Reservoir Project
We advised a main contractor in adjudication proceedings under NEC terms arising from delays, compensation events and associated financial differences related to the completion of a hydroelectric reservoir project.
The Ledger, Cardiff
We advised on the £60 million development of The Ledger, the first building on the Central Quay site and a key focal point to the south of Cardiff Central Station, comprising primarily office accommodation with a large public square linking to the station and a potential future metro stop.
London Residential Development
We advised a developer in adjudication and subsequent High Court proceedings in respect of delays, disruption and defective design and construction of multiple ultra-high value residential developments in a central London location under JCT terms.
Quinbrook Infrastructure
We advised on the acquisition of the exclusive development rights for one of the UK’s largest battery storage projects from Simec Atlantis Energy Limited (“Project Uskmouth”). We also advised on a subsequent investment round, totalling £160 million. The planned 230MW/460MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will be located at the site of the former Uskmouth coal-fired power station in South Wales. This represents a major anchoring project in the planned re-development and regeneration of the site into a Sustainable Energy Park that will support innovative future industry.
Irish State-Owned Utility Group ESB
Acting in connection with the development and sale of a 15-turbine, 34.5-megawatt wind farm project. We provided support throughout the development phase of the project and assisted in securing all necessary easements, consents and rights for the project prior to disposal.
