The Department for Work and Pensions has published its proposed benefit and pension rates for 2026-2027, which includes changes to numerous statutory employment-related payments.
From April 2026, employees off work due to sickness will be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay of £123.25 per week, an increase from the current rate of £118.75.
The following parental pay rates will also increase from £187.18 per week to £194.32 as of April 2025:
- Statutory maternity pay
- Statutory paternity pay
- Statutory shared parental pay
- Statutory adoption pay
- Statutory parental bereavement pay
- Statutory neonatal care leave pay
These proposed rates remain subject to final Government approval, although they are widely expected to be confirmed. Keep an eye on our newsletter for further updates and formal confirmation in the new year.
